We hope to go ahead with the planned cycle trip of the Dave Brailsford Way on Saturday 8th August. The plan is to meet outside at the GMC hut ready for a 08.30 start. The route is 75 miles in total with approx 2000m of ascent. We ascend up to Pen y Pass, down Llanberis Pass to Caernarfon, then round to Penygroes, Nantlle Valley, Rhyd Ddu, Beddgelert, Blaenau Ffestiniog, over the Crimea Pass, to Betws y Coed and back to the hut. If anyone would prefer to do a shorter route, there is an option to turn off at Beddgelert and go back via Pen y Gwryd to the hut, which shortens the route to about 60 miles.

As far as accommodation is concerned, the options are to either camp, park camper van outside the hut, stay at the Tinny or just drive out early in the morning and back at night. If the rules change in the meantime to allow limited sleeping in the hut, that may be another option.

Log in to see the list of those proposing to take part. If anyone else would like to take part, please could you let me know asap.

If the weather forecast looks poor, I have no desire to cycle it in the wet (again!) so will postpone to another date.
