Social Activities

There is a strong social element to getting out into the hills with fellow club members, and usually we end up having an "off the hill pint" (or maybe two)
An informal dinner in our Club hut has its own very special atmosphere. Each Burns Night in January we manage to cram 26 people into the "banquetting hall" (the kitchen) for a traditional Scottish occasion. The photograph (right from 2012) shows members enjoying a menu of
Burns Night
Homemade Leek and Potato Soup or
Fillet of Pork with black pudding, wrapped in bacon and served with a rhubarb and honey sauce
Haggis and mashed potato with crème fraiche in a tower, served with Neeps and beetroot puree
Strawberry Cranachan trifle / Deep Fried Mars Bars !!

(And all this at a cost of £8, including some wine and whisky)
