9 Edges is a 23-Mile route in the Peak District National Park along good paths and taking in some excellent views.   We start at the Ladybower Reservoir and travel south to Baslow. traversing:

  • Derwent Edge
  • Stanage Edge
  • Upper Burbage Edge
  • Lower Burbage Edge
  • Froggatt Edge
  • Curbar Edge
  • Baslow Edge
  • Gardom’s Edge
  • Birchen Edge

Total ascent for the dat is around 4000ft.

Meet at 8.30 at the Ladybower Reservoir – left off the A57 Snake Pass road from Glossip. Drive up the side of the reservoir for about 2 miles and park in the Fairholmes car park – adjacent to the visitors centre and just below Keswick Dam.  Parking is £5.00 for the day, cash or card.  Post code S33 0AQ.  There are public toilets at Fairholmes.

Finish is at the Birchen Edge car park, Bakewell, DE45 1PU (A619) next to the Robin Hood pub.  As it is a linear walk we will have to leave a car here.  Please let me know if you are driving and we can arrange for at least one car to be parked at the finish point.  Parking is £5.00 for the day.
