MEET; 9.45 for 10.am start in Aberwheeler SJ 096 693. 1Km South of Bodfari on the B 5429 (O.S. Explorer Map No 265). Parking small layby that contains a bus stop, or in the opposite bungalow estate opposite called Bro Lleweni.

ROUTE: Initially green lanes leading to fields, routes through bracken to the satelite summit on the SW of Moel y Parc (317 mtrs), continuing NE to the top cairn (398 mtrs). From there along the Offa's Dyke path to Penycloddiau Hill Fort (440 mtrs) and then forward to the car park on the Llandyrnug to Nannerch Rd. Through the woods to join the Clwydian Way to return back in the direction of Moel y Parc and retracing our route back to Aberwheeler.

(Depending on the weather, fitness, energy, interest and time we could proceed onto Moel Arthur Hill Fort (456 mtrs) returning from there on the Clwydian Way to rejoin the former route. We can decide that option as we walk.)

REFRESHMENTS; The Fox at Ysceifiog (only a few miles away on our way home) as it serves hot food for those that might need it and it has been voted Camra best real pub in Nth Wales or Licswm or there are pubs in Caerwys nearer the A 55 for easier access to get home.

DETAILS; Travel time from the Wirral 45 mins approx via Mold/Denbigh Rd A 541 or A 55, J31/B5122 Caerwys.

Saturday tourist traffic on the A 55 could be heavy so you may need to leave extra time to get there.

Shorter walk 5-6 hrs approx distance 9 mls/10 approx (2,400 feet of ascent approx).

Longer walk 7-8 hrs approx distance 12/13 mls approx.(3,000 feet of ascent approx).

WARNING! If travelling along the Mold/Denbigh Rd watch out for the white Police Radar van (has blacked out rear right window). It could be found just as you leave the 30 mph zone in Mold, or be further along the road in one of the 40 mph zones near Hendre. The speed limit along this road does change a lot from 30/40/60 and back so be careful.

Any further questions don't hesitate to contact me. Hope to see you there. (If the weather is good, there are fantastic 360 degree views for most of the walk so bring your camera.)
