Distance 10 miles approx. Meet 9.15 for 9.30 start in a large layby on the A494 just south of Llanferres. (O.S. Explorer Map 265, SJ 187 598 Spot Height 209).
There will be a choice of direct & easy routes up & down steep sections & quiet paths to avoid the general public as much as possible.
Route; West into the Clwyd's to ascend Foel Fenlli from the south, north to access quieter paths in the Clwyd Forrest to cross Moel Famau before it gets busy. north to Moel Dywyll & down to Moel Arthur carpark, drop west partially into the valley, turning south along a set of balcony paths which like the outward ridge walk will still give expansive views of the Vale of Clwyd into Snowdonia.
