Plan is to meet at the large (and historically free) car park at the NE end of Llyn Celyn reservoir, at GR 881 404, in time to start walking at 10.00. This is situated on the A4212 from Bala to Trawsfynydd.

The walk is an out to the summit and back, about 7.5 or 8 miles long in total. It is mainly on good paths and a land rover track except for a small section of rough moorland at the summit. The walk is in very wild moorland country and views are good.

There is a stream to ford, the Nant y Coed. When the water level is normal one can splash across in boots, or use stepping stones, but it's deeper after major rain. If you are reluctant to get wet feet or take boots off I would suggest you bring a pair of sandals or light trainers to 'sacrifice'! For the same reason its a good idea to bring ski pole(s) if you have them.
