Saturday meet - Halkyn Mountain '3 Peaks'
(log in to member's area for restricted information such as mobile numbers)
This is an out and back walk over 8 miles all told starting at the parking place above Halkyn Village, along the ridge from Moel y Gaer hill fort to Holywell Common, via Halkyn Mountain itself. It covers some of the ground from the evening meet earlier this year, but adds more ground and further historical interest at the north end of the ridge. It is a straightforward walk on good paths with very broad views if we get the weather!
The arrangements for the day, please call or email if you have queries. Plan is to meet for a 10.00am start at the (free when I was last there) car park on the B5123 Halkyn to Rhosesmor road. The GR is 208701 and the car park is on your right if coming from Halkyn. To get to Halkyn you should leave the A55 westbound carriagway at exit 32b for Halkyn and Rhosesmor. The Blue Bell Inn in Halkyn Village has a post code of CH8 8DL and you might want to use on satnav that to get you to Halkyn itself, keep going towards Rhosesmor past the pub and you'll see the car park a little way on. The car park is not that big so please try to share cars (see below).
Please note that going home to the Wirral you can't use junction 32b. I always drive down to Rhosesmor and go through Mold on the way home it seems quickest and adds variety!
